Basically between this and Community, SONY is a life ruiner. It ruins lives.
Kids:
A few hours ago, I landed in Los Angeles, turned on my phone, and confirmed what you already know. Sony Pictures Television is replacing me as showrunner on Community, with two seasoned fellows that I’m sure are quite nice - actually, I have it on good authority they’re quite nice, because…

I have always thought that no one understood my obsession with various celebrities but this graphic proves I was wrong. You get me Tumblr. You really get me.

Something Corporate’s Leaving Through The Window was released ten years ago today via Drive-Thru Records.
Um. Take note. Let’s all go listen to “I Woke Up in a Car” and hold each other for a while.
Explain to me how you are real again because I don’t get it. #fangirlthoughts

As a direct response to:
I kind of take issue with this. It’s been really great to see the out pour of girl power on the internet over the past couple of years. It seems to have exploded since the inception of HelloGiggles and it’s nice to see “chicks” stand up for themselves. That being said, lately I’ve been seeing a lot more of this uber girly, dare I say it, stereotype being pushed. And I get it, for too long girlyness has been seen as a weakness and it’s time to assert that strength, especially with this “War on Women’ going on.
But I think that’s more reason for ALL girls to stick together, rather than turning on each other like this. I know it’s always been super popular for girls who don’t fit in to hate on the girls that are into pretty things and shopping and whatever else you want to fit in the “too girly” category. And that wasn’t cool. But isn’t this just that in reverse? I look at that bottom graphic and don’t see misogyny at all. It’s a girl that doesn’t feel like her likes and interests fall in line with the typical “girly” things her peers are into. She feels different and either feels ostracized or gasp, has the courage to be proud that she doesn’t like things just because it’s the “girly” thing to like. Shouldn’t we applaud people for having the courage to like whatever they want without succumbing to peer pressure? Shouldn’t we all learn to be stoked that we’re all girls and there shouldn’t even be a “girly” category because we’re all different and whether you wear chuck taylors or ballet flats it’s all girly because, um, we’re all chicks?
I guess this just hit a nerve because I’m not a big fan of that new show “Girls” and I read an essay yesterday that basically said if I don’t like that show then I basically hate all women. Um, what? I’m an unemployed wannabe writer and I should be ALL OVER the lead character Hannah, but I can’t relate to her at all, and it has nothing to do with the fact she has all white friends. It’s just not my cup of tea. Am I really not allowed to dislike it just because it’s written by another girl? I have nothing against Lena Dunham. I don’t think she’s evil or racist or stupid. I don’t begrudge her or think she’s untalented. I’m stoked she got her own show on HBO, that she’s living the dream. I just don’t connect with her. Does that really make me a woman hater? Does it make me anti-feminist because I don’t think that everything that every girl does is awesome?
I don’t enjoy getting my nails done. Shopping makes me feel insecure and gross. I find high heels to be uncomfortable and make my feet look huge. I will take pants over a skirt or dress any day because the latter options tend to make my ass look HUGE. Also I’m just more comfortable in jeans. I like comic book movies and playing video games. I gave up on Nicholas Sparks years ago because he got too cliche. The phrase “making love” makes me laugh and I can’t take it seriously. I don’t like the color pink that much. I like pizza and fail at diets. I have never felt like I fit in with girls that like “too girly” things. I don’t hate you if you disagree with any of these things or my opinions. I’m not a “girly” girl but I’m still a girl and no one should make me feel like less of one because I disagree with them.
The long story short is whether you like tumblr or facebook, pizza or salads, wedges or chucks, we’re all in this together ladies. Girly or tomboy. Stop hating because we’re all playing for the same team.
So I spent the past eight weeks taking Improv 101 at Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles. It was awesome, to say the least. Lots of embarrassing stories both told and experienced. And you know what? I’m not horrible at it. At the end of the class there’s a graduation show and this is part one of ours. Parts 2-4 are below. If you’re bored or in the mood for laughs or are a masochist and just love my face (seriously, you need to talk to someone about that) then check it out. Beware, if you’re into it I’ll ask you to sign the petition I’m sending to my father that says I shouldn’t go to grad school.

I happened to be listening to “What’s My Age Again” when this popped up on my dash. It was the universe telling me to reblog.
